Shorty 1: Pre-game

Hi,

After downloading Tiltbreaker (maybe someday more about my thoughts connected with this software) I've realised that sessions longer than 2 hours are bad for my winrate. This is because of losing concentration after a while and/or taking some bad beats/going into tilt mode. That's why my first non-removable option in this program was "session stop after..." it helped a lot even there are some dissadvantages dialed with it. More about it soon.

My even bigger leak was always starting the session. Day after day, with really close correlation my graphs looks pretty same. At the beginning stupid, costly mistakes then returning to my A-game (or going on 100% tilt and losing ever more bb's). I remember that one of my friends was shocked after seeing analise made by Hm's Leakbuster. Starting my session was always super bad. But I haven't done anything about resolving this issue.... till this week.

Pre-session rutine

If you want to be professional in any discipline you need to be focused, because your mistakes will cost you a lot. One spazzy call for 100bb is 2000 hands to play when you have your winrate stable on 5bb/100. Do you have so much time, really? I don't, so my new way of fighting with my own state of mind is to work more before playing.

Of course this is only first try, but I will share with you my "plan".

0. Turning off: Facebook, Skype, Phone.

1. Answer a really tricky questions - "Do I want to play poker right now, is my mood OK, my feelings not too high on emotions?" (cheers Chris de Burgh)

2. Quick warm-up for my brain. Push ups for ex. 15 is enought :)

3. Short game - thx too Robmaf. You can find it here

4. Reading on loud my sheets (with analized hands)

5. PLAY for 1h- 1h:30min

Will be back with results but after 4-5 sessions i like it a lot!
Do you have your own rutine? Share with comment pls.

November - sum up or spazz out?

Today I want to focus on announced in the first post  ending summary of the month. Unfortunately, despite many positives, I can not recognize that I am happy with the game, especially mindset.

Although I referred a month with positive results as bad. I think that's a good omen before the next. But going into details.

I played less than expected by 10,000 hands. I've always had a problem with a typical grind , but the truth is that by playing 4-6 tables you need a lot more hours spent in front of the screen. Does not seem that I'll be rakeback machine in the future. And I'm okay with that!

In addition to the changes
introduced at the tables, which surely will describe in future posts, I would like to draw your attention to this aspect:

 Result Visualization

Of course, I will not come into the discussion on the line drawn by HM  - EV . Everyone can think about it what he wants . I do soaked in with my own way in the following manner .

I divided hands into the following categories:

Variance UP - when I win and played, both myself and opponent correctly . Here are the stacks AI , for example AA vs KK , set over set , all of the equity of about 50 %

Variance DOWN - similar , but I lost

Unmarked - nothing special , simple obvious valuebets , etc spots with less than 30bb's

Spazz OUT - hands that I played badly aggressively or made too loosely calls

LuckyMe - when you win a hand with  less than 30 % equity , or when I'd a pretty great run out .

BadBeats - when I lose with more than 70 % or a rival gets an amazing card on the river etc.

For Review - All hands I need to discuss with my coach

What it gives ?

First of all, illustrates just how variation affects the game at shorter distances. An objective can tell whether I have " upswing " or not. As I mentioned we usually think that we are doing worse than expected, not seeking own unforced errors. And everyone has a lot of those. After a cursory analysis of my November it's comes to me that I lost on the category of Spazz out more than all my winrate , so despite the fact that aggregating variation was negative, I have still a lot of doubts to my own attitude.

Is it hard to do? Maybe now it looks like hard work, but believe me - already in the game you can determined hand by hand, and it is enough for an additional 5 minutes after the session to complete all categories with a little of analise.

Try it yourself!

Finally on my own!

How many times can you start " from the scratch " ? Probably - by some older guys wearing beards, who hadn't the habit of frequently dip feets in the cold river - you should not that often.

But we do not live in ancient Greece , so I can afford it with a clear mind. As you've guessed (or have read in the title of the blog ) I was in a couple of poker " places " before. Why , so get down to writing again? It is at least a couple of reasons.

Habit

Poker always treated as an attractive way of spending free time, because specialization , which with the help of fate, made my share , of creating content for several poker sites . Typically, it was associated with running a blog on the page. It was pretty natural for me . But as with the web sites , they always promote certain interests / directions/philosophy . Such censorship imposed, often due to the commitment to sponsor or antipathy towards other members of the community. Here I will write everything that I think is valuable for me and maybe some day for you. That’s a big relief!

Development

Furthermore, I believe that every player should find a way to organize his thoughts on game . Not only that, just to delve deeper into the technical aspects of the game , or - what is more popular - boast good results. The main driver behind to keep records is developing a habit of " sincerity " . Sincerity towards himself . Nobody considers himself lucky in this game, but also sees itself always a little better than it actually is . Saving both results and theory stuff is ok, but - which may at the present time the most important -  also feelings. This helps to control the biggest rival , with whom we meet at the table. Us.

Creation

Aside from the obvious reasons , I also need a place where I can be creative , which I developed here and on Facebook . So far I can not disclose any details , but one of my dreams has now become a huge priority , and I hope next year will see the light of day. You’ll know first.

And what about the blog ?

The update will appear every Sunday . It will be an extension of my thoughts collected throughout the week.
October was the first seriously played month in my life, I was able to start cooperate with the coach and give up activities , which limited my time . So next time will be about October and changes in my game. Other topic, except poker? Hell yeah! Also some tattos, cooking and my life in general.

About me?

Not much at the moment, but the subtitle shows who I am pretty good. It’s a perfect time to start living on the upswing. Join if you want!

Cu sooon

PS: blog will be in English , because  most of the wording is from this language. Moreover, it will help organize my own thoughts - it is not my " best language "  and I need to think about it more “how to write it down”. I hope it will be easy for you to read – even there gonna be some mistakes (sorry for that).  I'm waiting for feedback!
